We replaced a backwashing carbon filter in Rockford, Alabama today. Ms. P's existing water filtration system is not what is recommended when using lake water as your main water supply. We have replaced this water filter for her piece by piece. The chlorine pump and retention tank add chlorine to her water for sanitation. She also has a sediment filter and a UV light that the water flows through. The new backwashing carbon filter will remove the chlorine that was added earlier for sanitation so that the chemical is not entering the home at all. With a standard reverse osmosis water filter in the kitchen, Ms. P's water is finally clean and safe to drink.
